| Some welcome rain was recieved late last week and again on Monday evening the 7th. Some northern areas could use more, but subsoil moisture is still good. Most corn herbicide applications are wrapping up, and with the recent moisture and some heat, the rows will close in fast. Soybeans are looking good, and herbicide application has started on them as well. Markets continue to move lower on percieved good crop conditions. Some areas have been getting too much rain, but in most areas the crop looks good and the market rarely worries about too much rain. It will take a heat/drought scare to move the markets, and that is not in the forecast at this time. |
