Comments: |
| Very nice weather over the last week has allowed farmers to finish most of the soybean harvest and get a good start on corn. Soybean yields have been a little above expectations.Early corn yields have been good, but not record setting in most cases. Corn is staying wetter than normal, ecspecially the later maturing varieties, and this is slowing the harvest pace and adding extra expense to dry the crop. Prices are staying strong for the middle of the harvest season. Today's USDA report showed a higher national soybean yield, but a lower corn yield, reflecting some concern over the slow pace of harvest. |
