Comments: |
| Another very wet week in the area. Most areas saw at least 3 inches of rain, some much more. We are back to having standing water in low areas. Crops on the better drained areas of the field look very good, but on lower, poorer drained fields the soybeans are set back, and there will likely be corn yield loss as well. With all our warm weather the crops are progressing faster than normal. Markets have moved lower, as some weather premium has been removed with good rains over much of the corn belt lat week. It is normal for the market to worry about drought this time of year, so it will take quite a bit of time to realize any losses that will occur from too much water in many locations, most likely until harvest. |
