Comments: |
| Crops are nearing maturity, and a limited amount of harvest has started, with more serious efforts expected by the end of this week. We had a frost on the 15. It did some damage to later planted soybeans, but most crops were far enough along that damage will be very limited. Grain markets have moved sharply lower over the last 2 weeks, as poor general economic conditions have weighed on investor sentiment, and some early harvest results have been a little better than expected. we still have a long way to go on assessing how good or bad this crop is, along with getting a handle on how many acres will actually be harvested, so we can expect volatility to continue. |
