Comments: |
| Dry weather has been a change in pace the last couple of weeks after heavy rains the last week of June caused flooding in some areas. The dry weather has allowed the soybeans to catch up after being behind on growth stages. Northwest Iowa is getting rain today which is needed now that the surface ponds are gone and some hills are looking stressed from lack of water. The markets continued higher last week due mostly to the fact that many local cooperatives are looking for soybeans. Old crop soybeans are scarce raising the cash bids with some coop basis being positive meaning the cash bid is higher than the future price bid. The soybean market is dragging corn slightly higher as well but the question is how long will this price jump last? |
