Comments: |
| Lots of rain since June 1st. Crops on well-drained land are in excellent condition. Crops on poorly drained land have standing water. Missouri River bottoms are mostly in good condition but slightly lower elevations means standing water, as much as several feet deep. Overall, the percentage of crop that will likely be lost is small. Soybeans can be replanted until early July. Will take until later June for some of those fields to become fit enough to consider replanting. Most recent National Drought Monitor shows very little stress from lack of moisture in the Corn Belt. The old saying is "10% of the Corn Belt is too wet and 10% is too dry every year". If you're in one of those areas (most likely too wet), don't be too swayed by local conditions affecting the overall market. |
