Over the last week, the rains have slowed in most areas, allowing many farmers to finish up corn planting and some to finish up planting soybeans. High winds have slowed progress on applying herbicide after planting. A
storm on this past Sunday caught the northern part of the state and dropped .5-1″ of rain in Dickinson and parts
of Emmet County.
The last two weeks, Iowa’s drought monitor has been completely clear of any abnormally dry areas in the state:

Great planting progress and favorable weather have put a damper on the slow rally we were experiencing in both crop markets. The weather will not allow much of a chance for an additional rally without help from news of
larger exports or trouble in South America.
