Rainfall has fallen in areas that needed it this past week but not over a very large area. A more widespread storm is said to be coming later this week. This rain will set in motion the final push for solid yields in both corn and soybeans. Aphid populations have began to appear, especially in acres that were replanted late. Insecticide is being applied with fungicide to combat these populations. In a year like this it is important to maintain plant health and integrity to make sure that you capitalize of every dollar on every acre.
In spite of high export numbers, there is still tremendous pressure on prices due to the giant crop that is predicted. With the average corn yield projected to be over 180, there is no concern about lack of supply.
