A large storm move through the area last Friday causing crop damage from wind and hail; the storm produced multiple tornados, which also damaged some buildings and homes. T he worst hit area was near Wayne, Neb,but from there the storms moved east into Plymouth, Woodbury, Cherokee, and Buena Vista Iowa counties causing damage in multiple areas.

Soybean harvest will pick up again this week as soon as things dry out from the rain. Many farmers will finish soybeans this week and start on corn. T he corn is still a little wet, but should drop moisture quickly if the weather forecasts of warm and dry are correct. Yields so far have been all over the board but generally good.

The grain markets continue to move sideways to lower under harvest pressure and lack of bullish news.
