Cool and dry would summarize conditions over the last week. Highs have mostly been in the 70’s, with several nights dipping into the 40’s. Rains have been limited, with just a couple of .3-.5 inch rains last Wednesday and again last night. A few areas in Clay, Northern Buena Vista, and Palo Alto counties received more than those amounts. Overall crops look average, but dry soil conditions are holding back growth somewhat. The cool weather was welcome given the dry weather, but with the historically hottest month of the summer still ahead of us, additional moisture levels would aid our maturing crop.

Grain Markets:
Markets moved lower last week as the moderate temperatures and some rainfall in areas gave the market a chance to take some weather premium out
