After a very hot week some spotty rains and storms moved through the area over the weekend. Areas short of moisture took a yield hit last week.

Some corn is denting now, and the first silage is being cut. The heat pushed the corn from dough to dent quickly, which can cause shallow kernels and low test weights. Soybeans are filling out pods.
